We visited Frit Ravich and their logistics center

On June 7th, the INDPULS members visited Frit Ravich’s facilities. Judith Viader, the company’s CEO, presented the company’s history, which recently celebrated its 60th anniversary. Frit Ravich is a family-owned company founded in 1963 by Josep Maria Viader, the current president. Since 1997, it has been led by his daughter Judith Viader, who took over the generational reins of the company, leading business expansion as well as brand and distribution development.

The company that started with a 200 m2 warehouse in Maçanet de la Selva (Girona), locally known as “la patatera,” knew how to prioritize product quality and commitment to customer service. This allowed them to stand out and grow into a large company with a unique industry business model and a dual manufacturing and distribution model. As a manufacturer, the company produces 1000 references of Potato Chips, Snacks, and Nuts, operating in the mass consumption, bulk, impulse, and hospitality channels with their own brands. Additionally, they act as distributors for external brands from well-established companies such as Mars España, Nestlé, or Ferrero, serving 50,000 points of sale weekly.

During the visit, we had the opportunity to meet their founder and president, Josep Maria Viader. It was a truly heartwarming moment!

The digital transformation project

In 2016, Frit Ravich initiated its Butterfly Project for the company’s digital transformation. They quickly realized that it was not just a technology project but a project involving people. Therefore, it was jointly led by Virginia Vera, IT director, and Maria Saló, HR director.

The pandemic arrived, and although it heavily impacted their sector, they emerged stronger thanks to being an agile company with the ability to adapt and make quick decisions.

Today, we can assure you that the Butterfly corporate culture permeates everything!

Frit Lab and the innovation model

Eva Corretgé, Innovation Manager at Frit Ravich, presented the innovation model they are implementing from Frit Lab. It aims to make Frit Ravich more innovative by aligning it with the company’s strategic axes, making innovation an integral part of people’s DNA, providing tools that foster creative thinking, and incorporating new agile ways of working.

Frit Ravich’s logistics center

Next, we visited the logistics center, which has undergone a remarkable automation process since 2015. It handles 3,700 daily orders distributed within 24 to 48 hours, conducting 300 daily routes to 50,000 points of sale.

The result of the visit was a success, and we returned home with a generous sample of Frit Ravich products as well!
