Recently, some INDPULS partners participated in the Boston Seminar on Strategy, Growth and Innovation, organised by Lead To Change<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below, we share with you a series of books that we read during the preparatory phase of the seminar, or that were recommended to us during the sessions of the different speakers. Given that Sant Jordi, International Book Day<\/strong>, is approaching, it may be a good excuse to buy or give some of them as gifts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his presentation, Jordi Alb\u00f3<\/strong>, CSO and<\/strong> co-founder of Lighthouse DIG<\/strong>, recommended the book \u201c<\/strong>Roba como un artista: Las 10 cosas que nadie te ha dicho acerca de ser creativo<\/strong>\u201d by Austin Kleon<\/strong>. It is the best seller on creativity. The author presents 10 principles to discover your artistic side and have a much more creative life. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Alb\u00f3 also recommended the book \u201cAppetite for Innovation: Creativity and Change at El Bulli\u201d by M. Pilar Opazo<\/strong>. A book in which the author analyses El Bulli\u2019s innovation model and identifies a series of strategies applicable to any company or industry that wants to innovate. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Marc Marcet, Innovation Manager at Lead To Change<\/strong>, gave us a talk about the book \u201cMoonshot Thinking: Transform Disruptive Innovation into an Opportunity\u201d by Ivan Bofarull<\/strong>, CIO at ESADE. He talked about the importance of disruptive innovation for the longevity of companies in an increasingly shorter life cycle. He referred to moonshot thinking<\/em>, a mindset of thinking big, which seeks to have a big impact. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Marc Marcet<\/strong> highlighted the importance of thinking ahead and understanding emerging trends and technologies to adapt and survive in an increasingly competitive market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, he presented the 12 habits to transform disruption into opportunity<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Take time to think.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. From the future to the present.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Understand technology before it understands you, your company or your industry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Pay close attention to synthesis situations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Scouting, understood as investment trends in my sector, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Also, do anti-scouting. From the ideas we have discarded, follow what happens to them, why someone is betting on them, how they evolve\u2026 <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. Start with the problem from 0, not with your current product.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. Connect with your infinite resources, not necessarily yours.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Create non-linear principles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. Always be on the frontier.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. Experiment: introduce a bias in favour of yes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  12. Avoid complacency.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    \u201cInnovar: Un manifiesto de acci\u00f3n\u201d by P\u00e9rez-Breva.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Another speaker at the seminar was Luis P\u00e9rez-Breva, director of the MIT Innovation Teams programme<\/strong>. In his book \u201cInnovar: Un manifiesto de acci\u00f3n\u201d P\u00e9rez-Breva<\/strong> explains how to achieve large-scale impact by starting from an intuition and learning to be productively wrong.
