He explained in a very didactic manner how AI can help industrial companies optimize their processes and shared some key insights on how to identify which of our company\u2019s needs can be addressed through an AI project.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-4-font-size\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--space-40)\">A definition for Artificial Intelligence<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Undoubtedly, Artificial Intelligence has gained popularity thanks to technologies like ChatGPT or image generation programs. However, to this day, professionals do not entirely agree on a definition for this new technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Oleguer offers a very accurate description, starting from the definition of Human Intelligence: The ability of a person to perceive their environment and achieve their goals successfully. Information cannot be applied to solve a task if it isn\u2019t processed.<\/li>\n<li>The computer doesn\u2019t have\u00a0<strong>goals<\/strong>; it is programmed to address a specific request, and the more specific the task, the better it will be at solving it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Thus, Oleguer Sagarra defines Artificial Intelligence as&nbsp;<strong>the computer\u2019s ability to process data and successfully and quickly accomplish a very specific task.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div\n\tclass=\"omt-qoute wp-block-omt-qoute\"\t>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"omt-qoute__wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"omt-qoute__deatils-block\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<em>\u201cTechnology provides us with scalability, but there\u2019s a key aspect we mustn\u2019t forget: Technology alone won\u2019t yield results because it requires support; there must be a group of people behind it who identify the task and determine what we want to achieve. This partnership is unbreakable.\u201d<\/em>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\u2013 Oleguer Sagarra.\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-4-font-size\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--space-40)\">The data exploitation cycle<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Next, Oleguer shared tools with us to&nbsp;<strong>identify our company\u2019s digitalization level.<\/strong>&nbsp;To do so, we must determine at which point of the data exploitation cycle we are, considering 4 phases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"margin-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--space-50);margin-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--space-50)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Digitalization<\/strong>: when we have tools to measure the present, process, and store data.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Information<\/strong>: when we have high-quality data that we can use to ask questions and describe the organization\u2019s current state.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Optimization<\/strong>: when we have data that allows us to apply AI to predict, automate, and optimize results, ultimately becoming more efficient.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Knowledge<\/strong>: when the repetition of AI enables us to interpret the models used to learn new aspects of our previously unknown processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-4-font-size\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--space-40)\">Artificial Intelligence and Industry 4.0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Industry 4.0<\/strong>&nbsp;is an exceedingly complex process involving the entire factory\u2019s&nbsp;<strong>interconnection<\/strong>. However, once this interconnection is achieved, it marks only the journey\u2019s beginning. Thanks to data science, adapted real-time production models have reached a new level of optimization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once we have an industry connected with sensors and have data we want to exploit, we first need to&nbsp;<strong>identify at what level of data exploitation our company is and, secondly, differentiate between micro and macro projects.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Micro projects focus on optimizing a specific factory process, while macro projects combine data from multiple machines. They are more complex projects but have a more significant impact, and these are the projects that Dribia develops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-h-4-font-size\" style=\"margin-top:var(--wp--preset--spacing--space-40)\">What can Artificial Intelligence do for Industry 4.0?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To identify the challenges we can address with AI, Oleguer recommends&nbsp;<strong>discussing \u2018tasks\u2019 rather than \u2018algorithms.\u2019<\/strong>&nbsp;To build trust within the organization, it\u2019s essential to involve operators and other company employees who can validate the results, predict the past, and gradually gain confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div\n\tclass=\"omt-qoute wp-block-omt-qoute\"\t>\n\t\t\t<div class=\"omt-qoute__wrapper\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"omt-qoute__deatils-block\">\n\t\t\t\t<p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tOleguer Sagarra distinguishes three types of tasks that we can solve using AI: regression tasks, segmentation tasks, and classification tasks. Thanks to a post-AI process, the quality of purchasing the primary product, in this case, recovered scrap, could be predicted semi-automatically.
