Visit to the MWC 2023 and the 4YFN area. We learn about the main trends that will mark the present and future of telecommunications with Aleix Valls.
INDPULS partners took a guided tour at the latest edition of the Mobile World Congress, the biggest event related to technology and mobility, that was held in Barcelona from February 27 to March 2, 2023. During the visit, organised by C2G (Change2Grow) and conducted by Aleix Valls, CEO of Liquid and C2G collaborator, we were able to get to know the main pavilions, as well as the trends that will mark the present and future of the telecommunications world.
Here are some of the highlights of the visit:
5G is already present
Undoubtedly, 5G has been one of the main themes of this edition of the MWC, as this new connectivity, faster, with a greater range and lower consumption, is a key component not only for the world of telephony, but also for robotics, Industry 4.0 and IoT devices.
Aleix Valls, on 5G technology, says that “this will be one of the big trends for the coming years, with thousands of machines and production equipment connected at the same time”.
Edge Computing, a new architecture.
The increasing deployment of IoT devices and the amount of data coming from these devices has generated a huge volume of data. The need to be able to structure this data has led to the development to Edge Computing, a new architecture of computational processes that offers new advantages for industry, such as faster access to information, faster response times, and greater insight.
Generative Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence and in particular generative AI was another highlight of the visit. This technology has become widely known following the launch of Chat GPT.
“Artificial Intelligence will be taking up space in the creation of content, from reports to creative texts, which will bring about big changes in the way we work and live” shared Aleix Valls.
4YFN and its commitment to startups
Another highlight of the visit was the 4YFN (4 Years From Now) area, a space specifically dedicated to startups where technological proposals from emerging companies can be showcased and connected with investors and companies. Aleix Valls pointed out that both Catalonia and Spain are among the top countries in Europe in terms of startup creation.
Now more than ever, everything is connected.
The conclusion of the visit can be summed up in the phrase “Everything is connected”. As a society, we are moving towards an ever greater and more intense interconnection between people and objects that will definitely lead us to new ways of knowing and relating to data.
