Marta Vidal, CEO of Vallformosa and member of the INDPULS Board of Directors, is the new president of the Cava Designation of Origin
Marta Vidal Ollé, CEO of Vallformosa and member of the INDPULS Board of Directors, has been elected the new president of the Cava Designation of Origin (DO Cava). With this appointment, she becomes the first woman to preside over the denomination since its creation in 1972.
The election took place on Thursday, June 11, during a plenary meeting of the Regulatory Council held in Vilafranca del Penedès. Vidal succeeds Javier Pagés, who has led DO Cava for the past eight years, and will assume the presidency for the next four years. The plenary session also appointed David Sendra, representative of Unió de Pagesos, as the new vice president.

The new president takes office at a particularly significant moment for the sector. Marked by challenges such as the need to strengthen unity, highlight the value of the territory, protect viticulture, and continue working on positioning cava in international markets. In statements reported by the media, Vidal expressed her intention to enhance the prestige of cava, listen to all perspectives within the sector, and build a shared vision for the future.
From Vallformosa, a partner of INDPULS, Marta Vidal has in recent years led a business transformation process focused on professionalisation, transparency, and connection with today’s consumers. Her career combines management experience, strategic vision, and commitment to the territory—values that are especially relevant in a context where the agri-food industry faces new challenges linked to sustainability, competitiveness, and international projection.
At INDPULS, we celebrate this appointment with great enthusiasm. Marta represents close, rigorous leadership oriented towards building impactful projects. Her appointment also highlights female leadership in corporate and institutional decision-making spaces.
Best wishes for success in this new stage, Marta.
