Open Innovation and Circular Economy: Alliance between Pastisart and FoodTech Agrosingularity.

This year 2024, at INDPULS, we are focused on two major challenges: circularity and traceability. The work of Pastisart, one of the founding companies of INDPULS, is a good example of a model of open innovation and circular economy within the food industry.

Pastisart is a corporation of frozen fresh pastries, committed since 1990 to offering its customers a wide range of traditional products and new high-quality creations.

They recently announced a collaboration agreement with FoodTech Agrosingularity, the Murcian startup born in 2020 that advocates for byproducts from the food sector, turning leftovers into super ingredients with great nutritional and technological value.

Their alliance includes using upcycled ingredients from the startup such as dietary fiber or natural flavors and aromas, for integration into the formulations of whipped dough, such as plum cake, biscuits, and muffins, among others, by Pastisart.

This way, the CO2 footprint is reduced and contributes to a healthier and more natural diet. Additionally, it allows Pastisart to meet the new needs of customers through innovative new products. Among the novelties of 2024, products ‘on the go’ and ‘ready to eat’ stand out.

“Customers seek a product that allows them to have a quick intake, but without sacrificing taste and nutrition” , stated the company.

With these initiatives, Pastisart not only consolidates itself as a reference in innovation and sustainability within the food sector but also demonstrates the value of collaboration and corporate alliances with startups like Agrosingularity.
